For administrators
Change a role or remove someone
For administrators. Change a member's role, take away their access, and know the rules about yourself and the last admin.
This page is for administrators. You need the Admin role to change roles or remove access.
Change a role
- In the sidebar, select Admin. The Users tab opens.
- In Enterprise members, find the person's row.
- In the Role column, choose the new role.
- Select Save.
You see "Role updated." For what each role can do, see Viewer, Creator and Admin.
Remove someone's access
- Find the person's row.
- In the Access column, select Remove access.
- Read the box that opens: "They lose access right away, and can be invited again later." Then select Remove access.
You see the message "Access removed for" and their email address. The person leaves the list. To give them access again, invite them.
Rules you can't get around
- You can't change your own role. The message says "You can't change your own role. Ask another administrator to do it."
- You can't remove yourself. The message says "You can't remove your own membership. Ask another administrator to do it."
- Every enterprise keeps at least one admin. You see "You can't demote the last administrator of an enterprise." or "You can't remove the last administrator of an enterprise."
If a change doesn't go through
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Any message that tells you to refresh the page. These say the person isn't on the roster, is no longer a member, or that the change could not be applied. One says your own access changed while the page was open. | Refresh the page, then try again if the change is still needed. Someone may have already removed the person. |
| Another administrator was changing this at the same time. Try again. | Try again. |
